Learn the principles of coronal polishing – clinician and patient positioning, technique, indications and contraindications. Also covered in detail are anatomy, physiology, pharmacology and dental emergencies.
Following the online course, students will schedule clinical instruction (held at a dental office in River Forest, Illinois).
Participants must be eighteen years of age and have been working as a dental assistant for at least one thousand hours, or six months full-time.
They must agree to act as a patient for coronal polishing, follow OSHA guidelines for infection control, and use Personal Protective Equipment.
Upon successful completion of the course, exam, and clinic students will receive their certificate.
This course is consistent with the guidelines of the Illinois Dental Practice Act. All educational and clinical requirements are in accordance with the State of Illinois.
