Renewal Period: September 30, 2025
Dentist
- 40 hours of CE related to direct clinical patient care or the practice of dental public health every renewal cycle.
1. 3 hours of medical emergencies every renewal cycle.
2. 2 hours of infection control. (Please note, if using OSHA your certificate must delineate the difference in hours between OSHA and infection control) every renewal cycle.
3. Effective January 1, 2021, all licensees are required to complete at least two hours of continuing education related to cultural competency every renewal cycle. ​
4. All licensees are required to maintain at a minimum a current Healthcare Provider BLS/CPR or equivalent certification.
5. ​At each renewal, all dentists licensed by the Oregon Board of Dentistry will complete a one-hour pain management course specific to Oregon provided by the Pain Management Commission of the Oregon Health Authority (Effective July 1, 2022).
Dental Hygienist
- 24 hours of CE related to direct clinical patient care or the practice of dental public health every renewal cycle.
- 3 hours of medical emergencies every renewal cycle
- 2 hours of infection control (Please note, if using OSHA your certificate must delineate the difference in hours between OSHA and infection control) every renewal cycle.
- All licensees are required to maintain at a minimum a current Healthcare Provider BLS/CPR or equivalent certification. ​
- At least 2 hours of continuing education must be related to cultural competency.
