Upon successful completion of the lectures and exams, students will sign up for the clinical instruction.
Participants will be required to place at least six pit and fissure sealants under the observance of their supervising dentist. A verification of sealant placement form will be given to each participant and will need to be returned.
Participants must agree to act as a patient for coronal polishing, follow OSHA guidelines for infection control and use Personal Protective Equipment. They must be 18 years old and have been working as a dental assistant for at least one thousand hours, or six months full time. A certificate will be awarded upon successful completion of the lecture, clinic and exam.
This course is consistent with the guidelines of the Illinois Dental Practice Act. Each participant will complete the necessary educational and clinical requirements in accordance with the State of Illinois.
